Jay Annand

President and CEO

Jay Annand has over 20 years of comprehensive experience in all aspects of commercial real estate. His expert knowledge and first-hand experience in negotiating the sale and leases of retail and office structures, has earned him an enviable reputation as an outstanding negotiator who is dedicated to his clients' needs. Mr. Annand has worked extensively on re-imaging and re-developing shopping centers. His experience includes work in tenant mix, branding, marketing and creating value.

In addition to working with an array of major corporations, small corporate clients and private individuals, Mr. Annand has an extensive background working with receivers, and special servicers on nonperforming loans, foreclosures, receiverships, and valuations throughout the country.

Prior to the formation of Annandale Real Estate, Mr. Annand served as First Vice President at CB Richard Ellis. He also served as Director of Leasing at Insignia/ESG, overseeing a large leasing portfolio of both retail and office space throughout the Southwest. His success earned him the title of Insignia/ESG’s Broker of the year from 1999 to 2002. He has also been in the Dallas Business Journal's Heavy Hitter list.

Mr. Annand graduated from Southern Methodist University and from the Cox School of Business and holds a Texas Real Estate Broker License. He is a member of both the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors and International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Mr. Annand is known for his work ethic, attention to detail, and dedication to his clients.


 

Alan Hargrove
Managing Director - Asset Management and Dispositions

Alan Hargrove has over 26 years experience with a diverse real estate background including asset management of commercial real estate properties and commercial loans, portfolio management, asset valuations, due diligence, acquisitions, oversight of leasing and property management companies, investment sales, project leasing, brokerage, and relationship management.  Throughout his career, he has successfully managed the acquisition, marketing, leasing and disposition of over 250 commercial properties representing an investment value in excess of $2.0 billion.  He has also performed valuations of commercial loan assets with values in excess of $1.2 billion and negotiated the acquisition and/or disposition of over $750 million of investment transactions and loan workouts.

Prior to joining Annandale Real Estate, Mr. Hargrove was responsible for acquisitions, management, marketing and disposition of commercial loans and REO properties for NorthStar Realty Finance, Fortress Investment Group, Cypress Equities, Staubach Financial Services and GE Capital.  Prior to GE Capital, he spent 10 years in the brokerage business as a tenant rep broker, land broker and leasing agent.

Mr. Hargrove graduated from Baylor University with a B.B.A. in Finance and Economics. He holds both a Texas Real Estate Brokers license and a Texas Auctioneer license.


 

Hugh Wall
Managing Director - Asset Management, Dispositions, Multi-family and Hotels

Hugh Wall has over 20 years experience in the commercial real estate industry including acquisitions, asset management, bankruptcy, dispositions, financial analysis, internal auditing, loan work-out, property operations, REO management and value enhancement. Over his real estate career, he has managed over 500 real estate assets in 30 states and 111 metropolitan areas in the US. He has been on teams that have accounted for acquisitions and dispositions in excess of ten billion dollars. In addition, he has disposed of 16 commercial and multi-family assets worth approximately $150 million, as well as 28 hospitality assets totaling over $180 million.

Mr. Wall was responsible for operating a $2.4 billion hotel portfolio located throughout the Western United States in his role as an Executive Vice President for Extended Stay Hotels, a Blackstone Real Estate Group investment. As Acquisitions Director for The Milestone Group, Vice President for WMC Management Company, Senior Asset Manager for The Archon Group and Vice President for Insignia Financial Group, Mr. Wall established a successful track record in the acquisition, asset management, and disposition of multi-family, commercial and hospitality assets throughout the United States.

He started out in the hospitality industry as a Management Trainee for Southmark Hospitality Management and has used his operational background to produce operational and financial turnarounds for hotel assets in the luxury, full service, mid-scale, extended stay and economy segments. Mr. Wall has experience in dealing with franchise brands like Hampton Inns, Holiday Inn, Best Western, Clarion, Ramada, La Quinta and various other independent brands.

He received a B.A. in Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana in 1989. He holds a Texas Real Estate license.


 

Susan Hageman
Mananging Director - Leasing

Susan Hageman is responsible for the Retail Division of Annandale Investments and has over 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry. She specializes in the disposition of Surplus properties for national clients, such as Kroger, Payless Shoe Source, Home Depot, Staples, Borders Books and Music, Outback Steakhouse and Thomasville/Furniture Brands. In addition, Ms. Hageman has represented the following retailers with site selection in the state of Texas: Pappagallo, Ace Hardware, Save-A-Lot, Family Dollar, Hancock Fabrics and O’Reilly Auto Parts. She is dedicated to her craft and strives to meet her clients’ needs on the highest professional level.

Ms. Hageman received her Commercial Real Estate training and certification at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio. She is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and serves on the local chapter planning committee. Ms. Hageman is also affiliated with the NTCAR.


 

Rob Exline
Director - Leasing

Rob Exline brings to to the Annandale team more than ten years experience representing both tenants and landlords in leasing office, industrial, and retail space, as well as land brokerage and development. During his tenure at Insignia/ESG and CB Richard Elllis he gained considerable experience representing developers and sellers on selling single tenant and multi tenant retail properties and office buildings for such clients at Dollar General, Family Dollar, and TD Ameritrade, among others. Mr. Exline has represented trustees and banks in the disposition of real estate and valuation of restaurants and businesses for Applebee’s, Bennigan’s and Burger King, as well as other national clients. He has also been involved in multiple sales of double net and triple net assets for developers of Dollar General, Family Dollar, TSC, and various other restaurant and shopping centers.

Mr. Exline earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Southern Methodist University.


 

Fred Hopkins
Director - Leasing

Frederick Hopkins has been practicing commercial real estate throughout the southwest for more than ten years. After graduating from the University of North Texas with a business degree specializing in real estate finance, he managed the real estate departments of Dollar General, Family Dollar and Dots. As an in-house real estate representative, Mr. Hopkins oversaw the negotiations of hundreds of leases, as well as ground-up developments. His comprehensive experience approving sites has made him an expert on both site selection and tenant mix and a tremendous asset for Annandale clients.

Mr. Hopkins currently holds real estate broker’s licenses in Colorado and New Mexico, as well as a sales license in Texas, and is fluent in Spanish. He is a CCIM candidate and expects to become a designee by the end of 2010.
